- Shoulder instability
What Non-surgical Options are Available to Relieve Shoulder Pain?
Below are the following treatments offered at our office:
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) uses the innate healing power of the blood to promote the healing of damaged tissue and shoulder cartilage. During the procedure, a small sample of blood is drawn from the patient. This blood is spun in a centrifuge where the red blood cells and platelets are separated. The platelets are then drawn into a syringe and injected into the patient’s injured shoulder.
These platelets have growth factors and cytokines, powerful components in the body’s healing. When introduced into the patient’s shoulder, these growth factors help to encourage the damaged tissues to heal. In addition, the platelets also promote an anti-inflammatory effect. This can help to reduce the patient’s shoulder pain and promote the healing of underlying damage.
Trigger Point Injections are a safe and effective pain relief option for your shoulder pain. Due to repetitive movement, sports injury, car accident, or overuse, the muscles and fascia can become tight and develop trigger points or knots. A trigger point injection introduces lidocaine into the tightened tissue, numbing the area and allowing the surrounding tissues to relax.
When the tissues are allowed to relax, mobility can improve. This increased mobility can help to encourage blood flow in the area, improving circulation and increasing the health of the tissue.
Chiropractic Care will help to correct any misalignments that may be contributing to your shoulder pain. When properly aligned, the musculoskeletal system, ligaments, and tendons function properly by supporting the shoulder joint in the correct anatomical position.
Chiropractic care with our doctor will include manual chiropractic adjustments to align the joints and spine. Our chiropractor will assess your body and mobility to find where adjustments are needed. He will then apply medium to moderate pressure to the spine, joints, and pelvis to even out imbalances. Many patients find their chiropractic appointments relaxing and the “cracks” from the adjustments to be “satisfying.”
Human Cellular Tissue works to restore damaged tissues in the body by using powerful healing cells to promote the body’s natural healing. Human Cellular Tissue treatments are non-invasive, non-surgical injections of tissue obtained by accredited tissue banks. Much like Platelet-Rich Plasma, Human Cellular Tissue works to heal the damaged tissue, helping to relieve pain at the source.
Human Cellular Tissue injection uses Exosomes, Cytokines, Proteins, Growth factors, Collagen, Lipids, Amino acids, Hyaluronic acid, and more to help the body restore damaged soft and hard tissue.
Physical Rehab includes specialized exercises recommended by our Physical Therapist. These specialized exercises are tailored to your body’s specific needs. Physical Rehabilitation usually consists of a number of sessions with the Physical Therapist. During these sessions, you will be evaluated by the Physical Therapist and taught how to do the specialized exercises. The exercises will help to strengthen and increase the mobility in the shoulder joint, encouraging blood flow which can help to promote healing of the underlying tissues.
